Coulter Partners announces leadership transition and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reorganization: Co-founder Bianca Coulter becomes Executive Chair, Nicholas Green appointed CEO
- Nicholas Green steps into the CEO role, and Bianca Coulter becomes Executive Chair.
- Joe Coulter takes a broadened Chief Operating Officer role.
- Charlotte James and James Bichener promoted to new roles of Chief of Staff and Operations, and Chief Financial Officer respectively.

Coulter Partners announces a strategic leadership transition and the reorganization of its Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Effective today, Bianca Coulter, Co-founder and current CEO, will assume the full-time role of Executive Chair. Nicholas Green will take up the reins as Chief Executive Officer. Joe Coulter, Co-founder, will take a broadened Chief Operating Officer role with Charlotte James becoming Chief of Staff and Operations, and James Bichener, Chief Financial Officer.

Senior Leadership Team
Bianca Coulter, Executive Chair
Co-founded Coulter Partners in 2003 and has over 25 years of experience of board and C level global search, building the leadership teams of ground-breaking early-stage, mid cap and global multinationals in over 20 countries. Bianca channels her judgement and considerable expertise to assist those at the cutting edge of life sciences and technology innovation to achieve their goals. Prior to founding Coulter Partners, Bianca spent 10 years with Korn Ferry and was a Partner in both Financial Services and Global Life Sciences. Bianca started her career with Citibank.
Nicholas Green, new CEO
Nicholas began his career in executive search in 2000, joining Coulter during its start-up phase in London. In 2013 he relocated to the US to lead the expansion of the North American business. Specializing in the life sciences and health-tech sectors, Nick leverages his extensive networks across North America and Europe to collaborate with industry leaders, private equity and venture investors. He focuses on candidate assessment, attracting top-tier talent and helping to curate world-class leadership teams. Based in New York.
Joe Coulter, COO
Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner, with primary responsibility for growth and strategic development of the company. Since co-founding Coulter Partners in 2003, Joe has steered operations and finance, with a special focus on quality client service and operational delivery. Responsible for the creation of the company’s bespoke knowledge management system, IT platform and data analytics, he also oversees knowledge management and marketing. Joe draws on previous extensive SME experience, gained largely in the interior design sector.
Charlotte James, Chief of Staff and Operations
Over 15 years’ experience as a dedicated business operations leader, driving efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day operations across start-up and corporate environments. Proven track record of success in developing and implementing business strategy, leading functional departments with diverse teams across multiple international markets. Excels at executing critical company-wide projects and business transformation programs with significant budget management accountability. A specialist in developing, implementing and optimizing business strategies and operational processes that empower the company to achieve its commercial objectives. Extensive large-scale and technical project management expertise, including establishing a UK start-up and implementing company-wide procedures and practices. Charlotte holds a BSc in Management Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London.
James Bichener, Chief Financial Officer
Strategic finance and business lead to support senior management. Global financial planning, analysis and reporting to drive growth and steer operational strategy. Joined Coulter Partners in 2016, based in London, drawing on over 18 years of extensive financial expertise in executive search gained with Russell Reynolds Associates, first as UK Financial Controller and subsequently European Finance Director. Broad and diverse experience of growing regional revenues, establishing new international offices, and implementing new systems and procedures. Prior to Russell Reynolds Associates, James spent four years with the BBC as Finance Manager.
